CHR Helps Brew Up Increased Profit and Improved Environment

A means of generating increased profit opportunity from café areas with no capital equipment funding, with the whole installation project-managed by experts, is the innovative solution for contract catering offered by award-winning commercial kitchen company CHR Equipment.

The concept is already proven, once operational, to generate turnover of at least £2000/day with just two staff, increasing foot traffic to the area and delivering a sustainable, socially responsible solution to regeneration of otherwise under-used or ‘tired’ areas, in public, healthcare and educational establishments.

CHR’s café package can include the Starbucks’ ‘We Proudly Brew’ franchise, but with an added dimension: CHR can project manage and execute the whole programme, from conducting feasibility studies, re-designing and equipping the area and installing the equipment. The only ‘up-front’ costs are any building work, as the equipment is financed via purchase lease.

Meiko Racks Up Green Points At St. Helens

St Helens College was the first college in the North West to become an Associate College of Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) and is a satellite site where the three year Honours courses are delivered.

The College is in the middle of a £60 million redevelopment project for its Town Centre Campus which is being carried out in two phases to keep disruption to students and staff to a minimum. Phase I of the project got underway in January 2008, with completion of both phases on schedule for 2011. The famous ‘clock tower’ building, home of the St Helens Business School, is being kept as an integral part of the Campus, and continues to be a local landmark, but everything else on the site has been demolished and replaced with state of the art new buildings.

The College Environmental Policy was originally written in 1993, and changed focus in 2001 to become a Policy for Sustainable Development. The College interprets that as: decisions made today must meet our requirements, and at the same time must not compromise the needs of the future.

Delivering Star Quality in the Kitchen- Year on Year

One of the top 10 gourmet hotels in the 2011 Good Hotel Guide, The Star Inn at Harome, and Michelin starred The Yorke Arms are just two establishments proving the point.

CHR Equipment designed and installed The Star’s kitchen in its hotel prior to its success; The Yorke Arms’ kitchen was installed in 2002, a year before it won its star, with the central cooking stove/ island range being hand built by CHR to chef Frances Atkins’ own specification, and is also annually serviced (by the same engineer who originally fitted it).

It’s a concept netting dividends for commercial kitchen company CHR Equipment Ltd.

The Preston-based company is starting 2011 with one of its fullest order books in its 20 year history, and in the past month alone has added additional contracts to design, supply and install catering facilities for four schools as sub-contractor to Laing O’Rourke and Balfour Beatty, and the consultancy for a new 500 cover restaurant- all new customers.

As the MOT certificate celebrates its golden anniversary, leading commercial catering solutions provider CHR Equipment has developed its own kitchen version to help caterers continually deliver, profitably…..

Under the CHR MOT, the company undertakes regular, detailed servicing and maintenance of equipment, right through to changing filters on water softeners. Unlike other providers,  should a piece of equipment break down, CHR will be on-site within 24 hours, and is confident in its ability to repair up to 90% of problems on that first visit.

Outstanding Ceda Grand Prix Award Winner 2009

CHR Ltd scooped the Outstanding Customer Service award at the 2009 CEDA Grand Prix Awards.

The annual award ceremony took place at the CEDA (Catering Equipment Distributors Association) conference, Carden Park Hotel, Chester.

The Grand Prix Awards provide recognition to distributors who have provided the very best in customer service and performed to the highest standards of the profession.

CHR Ltd beat off stiff competition from Contract Catering Equipment and Whitco Catering Equipment to win the Outstanding Customer Service Award for their work with Lancashire County Cricket Club.
