Feeding Freddie

We all know that Freddie Flintoff has the freedom of Preston, but did you know that Preston-based CHR Equipment Limited has had a major influence on our Freddie’s home ground?

Lancashire Cricket Club, Old Trafford, is one of the most prestigious sporting arenas in the North West . CHR has built up a partnership with Lancashire Cricket Club over the past ten years. Working with Executive Chef, Nick Ashurst, the team totally transformed the food service operation to cater for today’s requirements.

Nick explained, ‘During a test match we can serve more than 9,000 meals in four days. CHR has worked with us to re-design the kitchens to help improve the speed of service and quality of our food by using equipment technology. As a result we have dramatically reduced staff costs while increasing the numbers we feed.

Not only did CHR re-design the kitchens, they provided all the building work and project management, delivering on time and within budget every time. CHR also provide a 24/7 service response which is invaluable when ultimately your busiest times are unsociable hours.’

CHR’s Paul Neville said:‘Over the part 10 years Lancashire Cricket Club has invested over £700,000 in new building works, ventilation and kitchen appliances to meet ever increasing expectations. We’ve built a long term partnership and constantly advise them on investment plans for the future.’
