A modular approach to kitchen design has enabled what is believed to be the largest academy scheme in the country to cater for all its student needs….

The £9.5m Priory City of Lincoln Academy is the first phase of the Priory Federation of Academies, merging five schools in Lincolnshire into three academies. Main contractor Balfour Beatty enlisted the expertise of commercial kitchen specialist CHR Equipment to handle the design and installation of the new kitchens at Priory City of Lincoln.

Investment in student facilities is not only helping Birmingham Metropolitan College provide a hub for industry resource, but is resulting in a 50% improvement in cash generation in one area alone- with help from CHR Equipment.

The College, which operates across three sites, is in the process of executing a strategic plan to refurbish its James Watt campus to provide students and the local community with industry standard resources to help them achieve their goals; its latest OFSTED report rated it ‘outstanding’ in its provision of training in integrated manufacturing technology, high technology engineering and enviro-technologies.

When St Helen's College launched a £60 million project to transform its ageing town centre campus into a state of the art learning complex, a new catering facility was a key part of the brief to maintain its status as one of the top catering colleges in the UK.

Changing Rooms

Wigan & Leigh College appointed catering equipment and design specialists CHR Ltd to transform an old gymnasium block and changing rooms into a state of the art open kitchen, restaurant and bar.

The college needed a new facility to meet the training and production needs of its Catering NVQ students, covering the front of house, kitchen and bar courses.
