CHR HAS THE GOLDEN TOUCH AT LANCASHIRE COUNTY CRICKET CLUB

THE GOLD marquee at Old Trafford Cricket Ground is a permanent structure, built to cater for up to 800 diners, while work takes place on a new £12 million conference and events centre.

Fuelling the stylish reception area is a unique, bespoke production kitchen created by CHR Ltd.

Talking about the new kitchen, Gordon Greig, catering and lodge general manager at Lancashire County Cricket Club, said:
“It’s usual in these circumstances to hire a fully fitted portacabin, yet that proves a very expensive option especially as we already had equipment available from three kitchens in the old building."

“We have a strong working relationship with CHR Ltd and they created a very cost effective alternative solution, incoroporating existing equipment to create a fully fitted temporary kitchen."

“They purchased two portacabins which were knocked through to make a long galley kitchen within the preparation area, attached to the Gold Marquee.”

 The kitchen created by CHR Ltd was not only a significantly cheaper option, but Lancashire Country Cricket Club will also be able to continue to use it or sell it on once the new facility is up and running.

“We provided a fully fitted facility in a tent, managed to re use 70% of the exisitng equipment, that complies with all food hygiene regulations with built in extraction canopys and sealed and bonded flooring,” said CHR’s Paul Neville.

“The rental costs of similar units are astronomical, this way the cricket club are able to save over a 100k , create a fantastic kitchen that they can sell on or use elsewhere once the new conference and events facility is launched.”
