LIFE'S A BEECH!

The Beeches Hotel in Standish, Lancashire, recently invested £200,000 in a new state-of-the-art kitchen, designed and installed by industry experts CHR Equipment. Renowned for excellent food and service in the Stables Brasserie, The Beeches also caters for special events and functions, serving up to 130 guests in the Wheatsheaf Suite.

Head Chef, Rob Fairhurst, hired CHR to handle the full project from design to completion.The brief was simple. Rob needed a working kitchen with reliable equipment to stand up to the demands of serving 2000 customers each week.

CHR installed a huge bespoke cooking island from Garland at a cost of £40,000. Paul Neville explained, ‘The appliance has a life expectancy of 20 years so you can see where the cost comes in. It incorporates high powered burners, pass through ovens, char grill, two solid tops and a fryer all built in to a 5.2m long one piece cooker. Not only will this out perform any appliance on the market, but the 5mm thick one piece top means cleaning is very simple.’

The final word goes to Rob, who is delighted with the new facility: ‘I take my hat off to CHR. They have done a fantastic job in an old building that had many obstacles to overcome. The lads just kept going and found a solution to any problem the project faced. We’re very proud of the kitchen. Not only has the speed of service and quality of food improved but we enjoy working in such a fantastic environment.’
